Kolkata, June 9 -- In one of the most significant developments in recent times, the West Bengal CID conducted a search at the Trinamool Congress office in Kalighat, adjacent to the residence of former chief minister and TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday.
The search operation is part of the investigation into the alleged signature-forgery controversy involving party legislators.
In a separate development, a team of CID investigators also visited the Camac Street office of TMC national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee.
A large CID contingent, accompanied by police personnel, central forces and women police officers, reached the Kalighat office around noon.
