Kolkata, June 14 -- Trinamool Congress national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee was questioned by officers of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for nearly eight-and-a-half hours on Sunday in connection with the alleged Assembly signature forgery case.
He left the CID headquarters at Bhawani Bhavan around 8.20 pm after the marathon interrogation.
Beliaghata MLA Kunal Ghosh, who was also summoned in the same case, was questioned separately and later confronted with Banerjee during the investigation.
Speaking to reporters after emerging from Bhawani Bhavan, Ghosh said he had cooperated fully with the probe and confirmed that CID officers had questioned him in the presence of Banerjee.
