Kolkata, June 12 -- A day after grilling Trinamool Congress National General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee in connection with the alleged forged signature issue, West Bengal CID sleuths on Friday reached his residence to hand over a notice of summons for giving a purported hate speech during the recent Assembly polls campaign.
According to CID sources, Banerjee has been asked to depose at the agency's headquarters Bhabani Bhavan on June 16.
Rajib Sarkar, a resident of Baguiati in the city's north east fringes, lodged the case under various sections of BNS accusing Banerjee of delivering an "inflammatory" and "provocative speech" in which he had alluded to the union Home Minister Amit Shah.
