Kochi, Aug. 12 -- Security arrangements at Cochin International Airport (CIAL) will be further strengthened as part of the special security measures being implemented at airports across the country in connection with Independence Day.
The enhanced security measures will remain in force till August 20, 2026, in accordance with the directives of the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS).
Surveillance within and around the airport premises will be intensified, while security screening of passengers, baggage and cargo consignments will be made more stringent. In addition to routine security checks, a Secondary Ladder Point Check (SLPC) will be conducted for passengers immediately before boarding the aircraft at the ladder point.
