Kochi, May 13 -- Cochin International Airport Limited (CIAL) on Wednesday successfully facilitated a series of seaplane trial operations connecting Kochi with the Lakshadweep islands, in a major step towards enhancing regional air connectivity and boosting tourism in the union Territory.
The trial operations were conducted using a DHC6-400 Twin Otter seaplane aircraft bearing registration VT-SHE. The programme included flights between Kochi and Agatti, training sorties at the Agatti water aerodrome, and the return journey to Kochi.
According to CIAL, the first sector from Kochi to Agatti Island departed at 9.30 am and reached Agatti at 11.30 am. This was followed by a local training and trial sortie at the Agatti water aerodrome from 11.3...
