Bengaluru, Aug. 20 -- The Centre has assured Karnataka that union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will visit a drought-affected district in the state in the first week of September to assess the situation and review measures to support farmers, officials said.
The assurance came during a meeting between Karnataka Agriculture Minister P M Narendra Swamy and Chouhan in New Delhi, amid growing concerns over deficient rainfall, water availability and its impact on agricultural activities across the state.
