New Delhi, Oct. 15 -- Indian golfer Om Prakash Chouhan produced a composed four-under-par 68 to emerge as the best-placed home player at the $4 million DP World India Championship here on Thursday, as thunderstorms wiped out nearly five hours of play on the opening day.
Chouhan, a 12-time winner on the professional circuit and a former DP World Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI) Order of Merit champion, finished two shots behind Denmark's Niklas Norgaard, who set the early pace with a six-under-par 66.
The 40-year-old Mhow golfer carded six birdies against two bogeys to share fifth place with four other players, giving the Indian contingent an encouraging start in a tournament featuring several leading international names.
