Bhubaneswar, May 19 -- union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Tuesday announced the launch of a nationwide 'Khet Bachao Abhiyan' from June 1, aimed at promoting balanced use of fertilizers, protecting soil health, encouraging adoption of modern agricultural technologies and spreading awareness about government schemes among farmers.
Addressing the Eastern Regional Agriculture Conference in Bhubaneswar, Chouhan stressed the need to prevent diversion of subsidized fertilizers and ensure that such inputs are used strictly for agricultural purposes.
