Burdwan, Oct. 19 -- The Chorbagan stampede, which claimed 19 lives, has cast a pall of gloom over Birpur village in Raina, East Burdwan, following the tragic deaths of a mother and her son in the pandal tragedy.
The deceased, Tagor Bej (37) and her son, Sandeep Bej (14), had left Birpur on Thursday. According to Sripati Bej, Tagor's elderly father-in-law, the mother-son duo had first visited her parental home in Arambagh before travelling to Kolkata the following day to visit her aunt. They subsequently went pandal-hopping and eventually reached the Chorbagan pandal.
