Chennai, Aug. 31 -- The Tamil Nadu government on Monday informed the State Assembly that the Chola Museum at the Tamil University campus in Thanjavur district, proposed by the previous DMK regime, will not be shelved, putting to rest speculations over the fate of the project.

Replying to a question in the Assembly, School Education and Tamil Education Minister A.Rajmohan said there was no intention to abandon the museum project announced during the previous DMK regime.

The proposed museum is aimed at showcasing the history, achievements and cultural legacy of the Chola dynasty. The project is being developed on the Tamil University campus in Thanjavur and had been planned as a major heritage and tourism initiative.The project cost was est...
