Lucknow, July 5 -- Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) president and union Minister for Food Processing Industries Chirag Paswan, an ally of the NDA at the Centre and in Bihar, on Sunday announced plans to expand the party's base in Uttar Pradesh ahead of the 2027 Assembly elections, while attacking the Congress and the Samajwadi Party for what he described as divisive politics.

Addressing the Nav Sankalp Sabha in Lucknow on the 80th birth anniversary of LJP founder Ram Vilas Paswan, Chirag said the party would strengthen its organisation in the state and work to carry forward his father's political legacy.
