Chennai, March 8 -- Children should be taught on the importance of equality from a young age, Ms Prabha Sridevan, Retd Judge of Madras High Court, said today.
Speaking at the International Women's day celebrations at the Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research (SRIHER) on the theme, 'Rights, Justice and Action' on Sunday., she said equality and justice should first be practiced at home, which will help nurture a generation that treats both men and women equally.
While emphasising that children must be taught the importance of equality from a young age, she also urged students to treat their friends equally, regardless of gender and to uphold values of fairness and respect in their personal and professional lives.
