Raipur, June 4 -- Chhattisgarh is preparing to introduce basmati paddy cultivation in selected parts of the state as part of a broader effort to increase farmers' incomes and promote crop diversification.
Backed by strong government support, the initiative aims to position the state as an emerging hub for aromatic rice cultivation and help it tap into the expanding global market for premium rice varieties.
The proposal gained momentum at a high-level meeting chaired by Agriculture Minister Ram Vichar Netam in Nava Raipur.
