Raipur, Aug. 12 -- Chhattisgarh will mark the 80th Independence Day with the Tricolour being hoisted at 90 locations across the state, where, according to the government, the national flag has not been unfurled since Independence. With Maoist insurgency now eradicated from Chhattisgarh, the initiative seeks to take the message of freedom and development to places that remained beyond the reach of development for decades.

Ahead of the Independence Day celebrations, the Chhattisgarh government is organising the Bastar Tiranga Yatra 2026.
