Jagdalpur, May 31 -- In a first of its kind rehabilitation initiative for surrendered Maoists in Bastar, authorities have launched a specialised medical programme to help former cadres who underwent sterilisation during their years in the insurgency and now wish to start families.
The initiative marks a new dimension in the rehabilitation process for former Maoists who have returned to mainstream society. Beyond employment, financial assistance and housing support, the administration is now attempting to address personal and family-related challenges faced by those rebuilding their lives after years in the movement.
