Alappuzha (Kerala), July 1 -- A portion of an under-construction overbridge on National Highway 66 at Cherthala collapsed on Tuesday, narrowly averting a major tragedy. No casualties or injuries were reported in the incident.
The collapse occurred while construction work was in progress, sending concrete debris crashing onto the road below and triggering panic among workers and motorists. Traffic on the stretch was temporarily disrupted as police and other authorities rushed to the scene and cordoned off the area.
