Mumbai, July 17 -- One person was killed and four others injured after a chemical tanker exploded during maintenance work in Chembur East here on Friday evening, officials said.
The explosion occurred at around 1841 hrs near Mukund Nagar, MHADA Colony, Mysore Colony, according to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) control room. The tanker was reportedly undergoing maintenance when the blast took place.
Following the explosion, teams from the BMC Fire Brigade, Mumbai Police, 108 ambulance service, BEST and ward officials rushed to the spot and launched rescue operations.
All five injured persons were shifted to hospital for treatment. One of them succumbed to injuries and was declared dead at Lokmanya Tilak Municipal General (LT...
