Neeraj BaliChandigarh, Aug. 19 -- Former Punjab chief minister Charanjit Singh Channi will miss Wednesday's Congress Working Committee meeting in Delhi, where senior Punjab leaders are set to discuss the party's preparations for the next Assembly election.
Channi's absence may give rival camps within the Punjab Congress more room in an important party-level discussion. He has cited other engagements as the reason for not attending the meeting, while State Congress president Amrinder Singh Raja Warring will be present as a special invitee.
