Chandigarh, May 23 -- Reiterating its focus on scientific waste management and environmental sustainability, the Municipal Corporation of Chandigarh on Friday carried out a special cleanliness drive at the Dadumajra dumping site, during which nearly 25 tonnes of non-biodegradable waste were collected and sent for scientific processing.
The drive was led by MC Chief Engineer Sanjay Arora, who actively participated in the operation along with sanitation workers and field staff of the civic body.
During the campaign, plastic, polythene, rubber, cloth, and other non-biodegradable waste materials scattered across the dumping ground were collected and transported to a dry waste processing plant for scientific disposal.
