Chandigarh, July 2 -- Chandigarh Mayor Saurabh Joshi on Thursday assured Municipal Corporation employees that their long-pending service and welfare-related issues would be addressed on a priority basis after holding a meeting with representatives of various employees' and workers' unions.
During the meeting, union representatives submitted memorandums highlighting a range of pending demands, including timely payment of salaries, pensions and retirement benefits, medical reimbursement, compassionate appointments, regularisation of eligible employees, welfare measures for outsourced workers, leave benefits, uniforms, safety equipment, identity cards and clearance of pending arrears.
