Neeraj BaliChandigarh, June 30 -- A four-year-old boy fell into an open 220-foot-deep borewell in Haryana's Ambala district on Tuesday morning, triggering a massive rescue operation involving the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), the Army and local authorities.

The incident took place at Dhanora village at around 7 a.m. when the child, identified as Nirbhay, had accompanied his father, Manjeet Singh, to deliver food to his grandfather, who was working in the fields. According to the family, the boy was playing near the agricultural land when he accidentally slipped into the uncovered borewell.
