Chennai, March 24 -- The Central Good and Services Tax (CGST) and the Central Excise, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry Zone, has activated a 24x7 robust, multi-layered enforcement framework to ensure a free and fair electoral process.
While Pondy goes to the polls on April 9, elections to elect the 34-member 17th Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly would be held on April 23.
To prevent the distribution of inducements and ensure strict compliance with electoral norms, the Department has initiated the various measures including setting up of 24x7 central controol room, nomination of Nodal Officers, activation of Flying Squads and Static Surveillance Teams and Strategic Highway Interdiction.
