Aizawl, July 12 -- Mizoram Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Garima Gupta has been transferred to Delhi while the state is in the midst of the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, according to an order issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).

Gupta, a 2004-batch IAS officer of the AGMUT cadre, had been serving as the state's CEO since May 18 this year.

Officials said her tenure in the post had concluded, making her eligible for transfer. However, the timing of the move has prompted discussion within official circles.
