New Delhi, Sept. 18 -- The Centre will issue a Rs 100 commemorative coin to mark the 1,000th anniversary of the Modhera Sun Temple in Gujarat, according to a notification issued by the union Finance Ministry on Friday.
The Department of Economic Affairs notified the Coinage (Issue of commemorative coin on the occasion of 1,000 Years of Modhera Sun Temple, Gujarat) Rules, 2026, under the Coinage Act, 2011.
The rules will come into force from the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
Under the notification, G.S.R. 825(E), dated September 18, 2026, a coin in the denomination of Rs 100 will be minted under the authority of the Central Government to commemorate the 1,000th anniversary of the Modhera Sun Temple.
