Patna, June 17 -- union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that coordinated efforts by the Central and Bihar governments are accelerating all-round development of the agriculture sector in the state.
Addressing a programme organised under the "Khet Bachao Abhiyan" (Save Farmland Campaign) at Naubatpur in Patna district on Wednesday, Chouhan announced a series of initiatives aimed at strengthening agricultural infrastructure and enhancing farmers' income in Bihar.
He said that the Bihar Agriculture Department has been allocated a budget of Rs 2,525.43 crore for the financial year 2026-27, while the Centre has approved Rs 1,366.29 crore under various centrally sponsored schemes.
