Kolkata, March 13 -- The union Ministry of Home Affairs has written to the West Bengal government seeking the deputation of Siliguri Police Commissioner C. Sudhakar and former Darjeeling District Magistrate Manish Mishra.
The development comes amid the controversy surrounding President Droupadi Murmu's recent visit to North Bengal.
According to sources, the letter from the ministry headed by union Home Minister Amit Shah was sent in the backdrop of the dispute between the Centre and the state over alleged lapses in security arrangements and protocol during the President's tour on March 7.
However, officials indicated that no formal response has yet been received from the state government.
