Panchkula, Aug. 22 -- India's mobile phone manufacturing journey is gearing up for a bold new chapter as the Centre unveils a Rs62,500-crore incentive scheme. This initiative goes beyond boosting handset production, aiming to pack more Indian-made components into every device and nurture the rise of home-grown mobile brands.
The Mobile Phone Manufacturing Scheme (MPMS), notified by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), will run for five years from 2026-27 to 2030-31.
