Chennai, Aug. 27 -- Tamil Nadu Highways Minister Aadhav Arjuna on Thursday informed the State Assembly that the Centre was prepared to support the state in road projects to the tune of Rs two lakh crore over the next five years, while announcing that railway overbridges, ring roads and key highways would be prioritised to address growing traffic congestions across the State.
Responding to questions in the House, he said he had personally taken up Tamil Nadu's road infra requirements with the union Road Transport and Highways Minister and the Centre has also assured that the Central Road Fund allocation for Tamil Nadu would be increased to Rs 1,000 crore.
