Panchkula, Aug. 13 -- The Centre has asked Ministries and Departments to explain why incorrect or additional payments to government employees are still found near the end of their service, even though audits of pay-fixation orders are supposed to be completed within three months.
An August 12 Office Memorandum from the Internal Audit Division, Controller General of Accounts, Department of Expenditure, stated that the Department continues to receive requests to cancel the recovery of extra payments.
The memorandum reminded that a DoPT order dated October 3, 2022, directed Ministries and Departments to review pay-fixation orders related to MACP, ACP, financial upgrades, raises, and promotions within three months of their issuance. It also s...
