Panchkula, Aug. 19 -- The Ministry of Defence has published the draft Ambala Cantonment Building Bye-Laws, 2026, proposing a new regulatory framework for construction in the cantonment, including revised norms for Floor Space Index (FSI), site coverage, building height, setbacks, digital approvals, rainwater harvesting and accessibility.
The draft seeks to supersede S.R.O. 342 dated December 30, 1950, except in respect of things already done or omitted before such supersession. It has been framed by the Cantonment Board, Ambala, under Section 251 of the Cantonments Act, 2006.
