Nagpur, June 12 -- : The Centre is set to undertake a comprehensive review of the functioning and workforce strength of the Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organisation (PESO) amid mounting concerns over staff shortages affecting regulatory operations.

The proposed exercise will evaluate vacant posts, inspection capacities and administrative efficiency within PESO, the country's key regulator overseeing safety standards related to explosives, petroleum products, compressed gases and other hazardous materials.
