New Delhi, May 25 -- In view of the recent outbreaks reported in parts of Africa, union Health Minister JP Nadda chaired a review meeting on Ebola virus preparedness and response measures on Monday.

Nadda said India has intensified surveillance and preparedness measures. He reviewed screening and monitoring systems at airports, seaports, and land borders.

Minister Nadda reviewed the preparedness and surveillance measures for the prevention of Ebola Virus Disease with senior officials of the Ministry. On the directions of Nadda, the Health Secretary chaired a joint review meeting with officials from various Ministries and the agencies concerned.
