New Delhi, April 2 -- The Government has decided to provide full custom duty exemptions on critical petrochemical products till June 30, the Ministry of Finance stated here on Thursday.

This step has been taken to ensure continued availability of petrochemical inputs for domestic industry, reduce cost pressures on downstream sectors and safeguard supply stability in the country.

According to the Finance Ministry, the exemption covers core feedstocks and intermediates such as Ethylene Dichloride (EDC) and Vinyl Chloride Monomer (VCM), which form the backbone of several downstream manufacturing processes.
