New Delhi, March 17 -- The government on Tuesday claimed that there is no shortage of fuel in the country, with refineries operating at peak capacity and adequate supplies of petrol, diesel and LPG available, even as it intensified efforts to promote alternative fuels and closely monitor the evolving situation in West Asia.
Addressing a media briefing, officials said crude oil supply remains stable. "Crude availability is normal. Our refineries are working at the highest level. There is no shortage at retail outlets," an official said.
Reassuring consumers, the government added, "Petrol and diesel are available in sufficient quantities," while highlighting measures to ease pressure on LPG demand.
