Siliguri, Sept. 22 -- West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari on Tuesday said the Centre has approved the state government's proposal for implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Cha Shramik Protsahan Yojana (PMCSPY) in West Bengal, with an allocation of around Rs 330 crore.
The Chief Minister made the announcement after inaugurating a 126-metre-long bridge over the Murti river at Matiali in Jalpaiguri district. The bridge, constructed at a cost of Rs 19.78 crore, connects Gurumara, Chalsa and Matiali and is expected to improve communication in the area.
Adhikari said the North Bengal Development Department had prepared the proposal and sent it to the Centre.
