Washington, July 2 -- The US Central Command (CENTCOM) led a 12-nation security dialogue in Bahrain aimed at strengthening regional defence cooperation and safeguarding maritime routes through the Strait of Hormuz, a key global energy chokepoint.
Hosted by the Bahrain Defense Force, the meeting brought together senior military officials from the United States and regional partners including Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, United Arab Emirates and Yemen.
The talks, led by U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) commander Adm. Brad Cooper, focused on the regional security environment, air and missile defence coordination, and protecting commercial shipping lanes through the Strait of Hormuz.
