Kolkata, March 9 -- With political parties pressing for a shorter polling schedule and raising concerns over law and order, the Election Commission of India (ECI) on Monday assured that it would take all necessary steps to ensure free, fair, and peaceful elections in West Bengal, while also issuing a stern warning to administrative and police officials against any negligence in election-related duties.
