Shimla, March 24 -- A crucial breakthrough in the fight against narcotics trafficking has emerged after Call Detail Record (CDR) analysis exposed Vijay Bihari alias David as a central figure in an interstate drug supply network.
The accused, a known 'chitta' (heroin) supplier, is currently in police remand with the Baluganj Police Station as investigators intensify efforts to dismantle the wider syndicate.
SP Garuav Singh said in a press statement on Tuesday that David, who was recently arrested in Punjab by the District Police Shimla, was brought on a production warrant and formally taken into custody following orders from the Court of the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate.
