New Delhi, Sept. 30 -- The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs on Wednesday approved higher Minimum Support Prices (MSP) for all six mandated Rabi crops for the 2027-28 marketing season, with safflower receiving the steepest increase of Rs 675 per quintal and rapeseed and mustard getting a hike of Rs 413, as the government sought to provide remunerative returns to farmers and encourage a shift towards pulses and oilseeds.
Announcing the decision after the Cabinet meeting, Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said the government had increased the MSPs for all mandated Rabi crops in keeping with its commitment to ensuring remunerative prices for farmers.
