New Delhi, June 10 -- The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs on Wednesday approved the construction of a General Pool Residential Accommodation (GPRA) campus in Andhra Pradesh's capital city Amaravati, a major housing initiative aimed at providing residential facilities for Central government employees and supporting the development of the state's greenfield capital.
Announcing the decision after a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA), Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said the project would be the first GPRA development in Amaravati as well as the first such Central government residential accommodation project in Andhra Pradesh.
