New Delhi, July 15 -- The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs on Wednesday approved the National Investment Policy for Urea-2026 for Atmanirbhar Bharat (NIPU-2026), a new policy aimed at encouraging investments in domestic urea manufacturing and reducing India's dependence on imports to meet rising fertiliser demand.
Announcing the decision after the Cabinet meeting, Minister of Information and Broadcasting Ashwini Vaishnaw said the policy had been approved on the proposal of the Department of Fertilizers to promote fresh investment in gas-based urea manufacturing facilities across the country.
