Chennai/New Delhi, Aug. 19 -- The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Wednesday arrested the Deputy Controller of Accounts, working as Internal Financial Advisor (IFA), in the union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB), in a bribery case.
The CBI registered a case yesterday on a complaint alleging that the accused Deputy Controller of Accounts (ICAS:2020 demanded anundue advantage of Rs. 15 lakh from the complainant to expeditiously process the file pertaining to renewal of a private company's contract, pending before him.
After negotiation, the accused agreed to accept a bribe of Rs. ten lakhs from the complainant. The CBI laid a trap and caught the accused public servant for accepting the bribe amount through his wife.
