Bhubaneswar, July 31 -- The Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT), Cuttack Bench, has granted an interim stay on a show cause notice issued to Dr Debasish Hota, Professor and Head of the Department of Pharmacology at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bhubaneswar, over alleged unauthorised absence from duty.
The Tribunal directed that the June 27, 2026 show cause notice shall remain in abeyance until the next hearing on August 31, while granting the respondents three weeks to file their objection and counter affidavit.
According to the notice, Dr Hota travelled to Delhi on June 7, 2026, without obtaining prior approval from the competent authority and remained away from the headquarters on June 7 and 8.
