Derby (UK), May 21 -- Young batter Alice Capsey put her hand up to open for Englandduring the upcoming ICC Women's T20 World Cup with a dominant innings in the side's impressive victory over New Zealand here.
Capsey scored an unbeaten 74 from just 51 deliveries in a new role as opener on Wednesday, as England successfully chased down the White Ferns' score of 136/7 with more than two oversremaining and with seven wickets still in hand.
It was the first time Capsey has opened at T20I level for her country and the 21-year-old took to the often difficult task with aplomb as she hit three sixes and seven fours to leave selectors with plenty to ponder ahead of the start of the T20 World Cup on June 12.
