Dharamshala, May 14 -- District Election Officer (Urban Local Bodies) and Deputy Commissioner Kangra, Hemraj Bairwa, has issued orders prohibiting all campaigning activities within a 100-metre radius of polling stations in view of the upcoming urban local body elections in the district.
The orders have been issued under the provisions of the Himachal Pradesh Municipal Corporation Act, 1994 and the Himachal Pradesh Municipal Act, 1994.
According to the notification issued by the State Election Commission, polling for the civic body elections in Kangra district will be held on May 17, 2026, from 7 am to 3 pm.
