Phnom Penh, June 9 -- Host Cambodia defeated Hong Kong, China 2-0 in an international football friendly on Tuesday night, securing its first-ever victory over the visitor.

Played at Phnom Penh's Olympic Stadium, the match, which was broadcast live on BTV News, attracted a crowd of more than 20,000 fans.

Cambodia took the lead in first-half stoppage time through midfielder Yudai Ogawa. Forward Sieng Chanthea added a second goal in the 50th minute.

Hong Kong, China pushed hard to find a breakthrough but remained scoreless until the final whistle, according to Xinhua.
