Kolkata, July 20 -- The Calcutta High Court on Monday directed Trinamool Congress National General Secretary and Diamond Harbour MP Abhishek Banerjee to undergo an eye examination at SSKM Hospital before deciding on his plea seeking permission to travel abroad for medical treatment.
Justice Sougata Bhattacharyya issued the direction during the hearing of the DJ case today.
Banerjee's counsel, Ayan Bhattacharya, sought the court's approval for his client to travel overseas for treatment but after hearing the submissions, the judge said the court would take a decision only after receiving a medical report from SSKM Hospital.
