Kolkata, July 20 -- The Calcutta High Court on Monday refused an interim stay on a petition moved by the Kalighat faction of the Trinamul Congress against the Enforcement Directorate (ED) freezing three TMC bank accounts.

Rejecting the TMC faction's prayer for court intervention at this moment, the single Bench of Justice Krishna Rao ruled that there would be no stay on ED's decision to freeze the accounts.

Justice Krishna Rao, who had put his ruling on hold following completion of hearing earlier, said the court would not interfere right now on the issue.

The TMC faction had moved the court seeking an interim stay so that they can carry out day-to-day transactions through the accounts.
