Kolkata, July 27 -- The Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) has flagged revenue leakage of over Rs 100 crore in West Bengal's minor mineral sector, citing delays in executing lease deeds, failure to recover government dues, inadequate monitoring and unauthorised extraction of minerals.
The findings are part of a Detailed Compliance Audit on revenue collection and control of minor mineral mining, covering the Industry, Commerce and Enterprises Department and the Land and Land Reforms and Refugee Relief and Rehabilitation Department for 2017-18 to 2021-22.
