New Delhi, July 31 -- The union Cabinet on Friday approved the extension of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) Scheme for another five years, from 2026-27 to 2030-31, with a financial outlay of Rs 3.15 lakh crore, reaffirming the Centre's commitment to providing direct income support to eligible farming families.
Announcing the decision after the Cabinet meeting, union Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said the continued implementation of the flagship scheme would ensure timely financial assistance to farmers through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system while encouraging greater agricultural investment and improving rural livelihoods.
